About Me

Hello there! 👋

I’m Viktor Holovin, a Junior Software Engineer by day and a tech adventurer by night. Yes, I’m one of those people who genuinely thinks installing Arch Linux is a fun way to spend a weekend (no, seriously). When I’m not wrangling with code or battling my terminal, I’m probably writing content for my blog and courses, all while sipping way too much coffee and wondering why exiting Vim feels like solving a Rubik’s cube blindfolded.

The Journey So Far

My journey into the tech world started in a rather unexpected place – the gritty depths of a coal mine. Yes, you read that right. From shoveling coal to debugging code, I’ve come a long way. I also used to spend every summer in Russia with my grandmother and family. If you’ve ever had a proper Russian summer with your babushka, you’ll know it involves a lot of tea, endless stories, and just enough sunshine to remind you it exists. When I wasn’t learning the art of patience from my grandmother, I was moving around Ukraine, Sweden, Poland, and Italy, picking up new skills and experiences along the way.

Why This Blog (and Courses!) Exist

This blog is where I share my tech adventures, my love for Linux (seriously, it’s an obsession), and—most importantly—teach! The courses here cover everything from Linux Terminal basics to Python and Java programming. Whether you’re here to learn something new, have a laugh at my mistakes, or follow along with one of my tutorials, you’re in the right place!

What You’ll Find Here

  • Tech Tutorials: With a side of sarcasm, because learning should never be dull.
  • Courses: Dive into Linux Terminal, master Python, or tackle Java—all presented with a generous sprinkle of humor (and possibly a dash of self-deprecation).
  • Linux Love: Mostly Arch Linux, because why make life easy when you can make it complicated and mildly terrifying?
  • Random Thoughts: Sometimes tech-related, sometimes completely random, always quirky.

Fun Facts

  • I’ve worked in a coal mine, installed security systems, and even been a steward at San Siro Stadium. My path to IT was anything but straightforward.
  • I’ve lived in more countries than most people have visited, and I can confirm: Wi-Fi is universally terrible.
  • A cycling accident led to brain surgery, which has left me with a valid excuse for forgetting things. I mean, can you blame me?

The Serious Stuff (Well, Sort of)

All jokes aside, I’m seriously passionate about making tech fun and accessible for everyone. Whether you’re learning through one of my courses or following along with a blog post, I’m here to help you navigate the wild world of code with a smile. So stick around, because things are only just getting started!

Thanks for stopping by, and may your code (and learning) always run smoothly!

Cheers,
Viktor Holovin
